St. John Vianney High School seeks a highly qualified and certified High School Counselor to begin the 2019-20 school year. An ideal candidate has the ability to build strong relationships with students and is dedicated to Catholic education. 

A highly qualified candidate will exhibit the following characteristics: 

• Maintain high expectations for students’ academic success
• Support students in their mental health and well-being.
• Ability to present to large groups of students and families, including teaching classroom lessons on a variety of topics.
• Support our students and families in order to set each student up for academic, social and emotional growth and success.
• A willingness to collaborate with colleagues, faculty, administration and the community on behalf of students.
• Master's degree in School Counseling or a closely related field.
• Committed to developing knowledge of current developments in the counseling and education field through professional development, research, etc.
• Strong knowledge base in college and post-secondary counseling. 
• Experience in using multiple data sources to help assess student progress and improve student performance in academics.

Candidate minimum requirements:

• Bachelor's degree
• Demonstrated technology skills with various computer programs including Naviance.
• Maintain accurate and complete records.
