Description

Position Summary:
This position is responsible for developing and executing a comprehensive program of initiatives which will increase philanthropic support for St. John Vianney High School. This individual will focus on renewing and upgrading current donors, as well as increasing the overall annual fund participation rate. The Director of Community Engagement reports to the Director of Advancement and serves on the school’s Advancement Leadership Team. 

Specific Responsibilities:

  1. Manage relationships through a portfolio of prospects, overseeing and personally executing solicitations and the closing of leadership gifts.
  2. Identifies, cultivates, solicits and stewards donors and prospects for the benefit of St. John Vianney High School.  
  3. Collaborates with Director of Advancement to implement a comprehensive Annual Giving program, including appeals to current families, alumni, parents of graduates, and other constituent groups, that will increase participation and financial support to St. John Vianney High School.
  4. Responsible for planning and implementing strategies for the Day of Giving, Calendar Year End, Fiscal Year End and other fundraising campaigns.
  5. Partners with the Director of Advancement to identify and solicit planned giving prospects.
  6. Works with the Advancement Committee and other leadership volunteers to identify and cultivate relationships with prospective donors.
  7. Provide input for publications, social media and website.
  8. Other duties as assigned and serve as a member of the Advancement Team.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required, with a minimum of 3-5 years of advancement experience.
  • 3 years of fundraising experience required
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to represent the school to external constituents and work effectively with internal constituents across several levels.
  • Computer skills, including Google Suite and Microsoft Office programs experience with Raiser’s Edge donor software or similar fundraising software a plus.
  • Excellent organization and time management skills with the ability to manage multiple projects.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team oriented department.
  • Willingness to work evening and weekend hours as needed.
